On the 30th of June 2021 the European Green Deal and the Creative Europe MEDIA programme gathered the first stakeholder meeting “Towards a climate-neutral audiovisual sector” to form unified green European Standards for sustainable Audiovisual Production and Distribution (meeting Action 6 — Towards a climate-neutral media sector). As a participant of this structured cooperation Forum, together with other representatives from the industry, (sub)national film and audiovisual funds I will share current and relevant information with you on this page. The philosophy of the stakeholders’ group is to deliver concrete actions, through collaboration across value chain with public and private partners, focusing on the activities where coordination at EU level can make a difference. The objective is to exchange best practices, to agree on common tools and common standards.

Production companies in Hollywood and Great Britain are adopting sustainable practices at a record pace, signing renewable energy commitments and enhance recycling programs. There are also initiatives presented in Scandinavia, from the production industry in Finland, Norway and Sweden.
