Compilation: Towards a climate-neutral audiovisual sector’

Various measurement methods have been used in both Europe and the United States for several years. Representatives from the Norwegian manufacturing industry in Olso are also in the process of developing a new calculator and a Green Producers guide. Measuring emissions with calculators that include different parameters prevents comparability and benchmarking of results, which in turn prevents their use throughout the Union. In particular, international comparisons, cross-border collaborations and co-productions require a common measurement method.

European Green Deal and the Creative Europe MEDIA program gathered the first stakeholder meeting June 2021 “Towards a climate-neutral audiovisual sector” to form unified green European Standards for sustainable Audiovisual Production and Distribution (meeting Action 6 - Towards a climate-neutral media sector). Untill the publication of the unified green European Standards, you will find a compilation of the most valid guids, checklists and calculators here. Remember to be careful about using donations and sponsorships as proof that you are working on sustainability. CSR and environmental strategy is about how you make money, not how you spend it.
